Tuesday

A day with the kids.

I love photography. I love taking pictures of things like flowers, nature, landscapes, people and most of all, my children. I am lucky though, because my kids love to have their picture taken. I have three of the most photogenic kids. Today, we spent several hours playing at the park and taking pictures. Here is just a few of my favorites from the day.

Enjoy!

The baby felt left out, so I took his pictures too!

A lesson in Blogging...

This might be your first time reading a blog. You may not know how to read through the blogs, or how to comment. You may not even know you can follow another person's blog.

On the left hand-side you will find a widget where you can become a follower. The title is called readers; click the follow button to follow this blog. This blog will be listed with easy access for your convenience. There is a comment link after each blog to leave comments. Many things people read are conversation starters. Let's start up a conversation!

There is a widget called places I have been. This is a place where I have left links to sites I thought were awesome. As I find more sites I will add more links. Keep checking back.

There are also some social networking sites listed on my blog page. If you have facebook or twitter why not share some of your favorite readings with the people that follow your facebook and/or twitter.

A whole new world...

This weekend my husband had to go to Chicago, for business. I went with him because he was finished with work at 5pm, and we were able to see the sites after that. We stayed a total of two days, and we had a lot of fun. The title of this post is "A whole new world" because I have never been to Chicago, and I have never been to a city were I stayed mixed in with all the skyscrapers! I am a small town farm kind of gal this was quite an experience for me. Here are a few pictures that are my favorites.

This is the entrance to Millennium Park. Not sure what this is, but I think it is a statue that looks like a bike helmet. I thought it was a cool entrance to the park. I also liked the reflection.

I think this city has some of the best architecture.

I have seen this exact shot somewhere, but I cannot remember where. I am sure it was in some show.
Where ever I seen the shot I think it is a breath-taking scene.

More beautiful buildings. The architecture in this city is just absolutely georgeous!

Some beautiful shots at sun-set.

More beautiful shots at sun-set. The colors were just georgeous.

Here are some beautiful pictures of the buildings at night.

One cannot go to Chicago, and not go see Oprah's studio. The interesting thing was, we stayed at the hotel that Oprah puts her guest in. The cab driver made me get out and pose with the sign.

Here are some breath-taking pictures from Lake Michigan.

I am pretty proud I ended up with some nice photographs.

One cannot go to chicago, and not go see the famous Married With Children Fountain!

"Love and Marriage...love and marriage...go together like a horse and carriage...this I tell ya brother...ya can't have one without the other...love and marriage....."

I would have to say...this was a nice trip, and I enjoyed my time. I would love to make a trip back. There were many things I wanted to see and never got around to it.

Friday

My garden

This year I decided I wanted a flower garden, and Bobby wants a vegetable garden. I am excited how my flower garden turned out! Here are a few pictures of how my flowers look this year.

I have a few bird feeders to feed the birds.

Bobby's garden has just sprouted. I will post pictures in a few days before we plant the vegetables in the ground.

I am so excited about our garden and wanted to share. I will up-date with future progress.

Wednesday

my hot date

I have a date tonight. First, it will start with a nice hot bath.

Most likely the bath will be a bubble bath. I plan to soak in the tub so long that I will have to keep letting some water out then refilling the tub. To keep my bath hot, of course. I plan to take this bath by candle light. I will use my floating candles,

for that elegant feel that will help me relax. I am also going to have some wine

to relax me even more. I cannot seem to find my wine glasses, so this glass will have to do. After one glass I will use the bottle anyway, so it does not matter. I will have soft relaxing music playing, and when I feel like I am relaxed enough. I will go straight to bed, and curl up with a good book.

That will be the best date I have been on in a long time. I am counting the hours down til my hot date begins.

Monday

the lonely corner

There is a corner near the front door that use to be full of small rocks that were slate blue. I thought it looked plain and needed some jazzing up. So, last year Bobby and I dug up all the rocks, and decided to plant some rose bushes. The rose bushes did really well last year, and produced some nice roses for the year. I was emotional as the season came to an end, and I had to cut back the rose bushes to twigs to prepare them for the winter snow that would cover them for almost 5 months.

I am happy to say my rose bushes have come back this year, and are already much bigger than they were last year at this time.

Looking good. Everything looks so fresh and new, right down to the thorns.

I am so excited my roses are about to bloom. These bushes have some gorgeous rose petals, and I am looking forward to cutting me some long stem roses this summer. The smell of roses will make anyone happier in general.

The other kind of rose bush has many about ready to bloom.

Needless to say that bland corner sure does not look like it needs to be jazzed up anymore. My corner looks awesome with all the rose bushes.

I will post more when the roses bloom.
